If you’ve got scrap metal sitting in the garden, garage or yard, give us a ring. Large loads we collect free of charge across Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding area. Smaller loads we can usually still take, sometimes free, sometimes for a small handling charge.
What counts as scrap metal
- Steel bed frames, springs, headboards
- Old radiators (cast iron and steel panel)
- Washing machines, dishwashers, dryers (when not gas-containing)
- Cookers, ovens, hobs
- Cast iron baths, copper pipework
- Garden gates, fence posts, railings
- Gym equipment, weight stacks, treadmill frames
- Building site offcuts, rebar, RSJs, sheet metal
- Car parts, engines, gearboxes, alloy wheels
- Old tools and engineering kit
Free for large amounts
When there’s enough metal to make the journey worthwhile (roughly half a van load and up), collection is free. We weigh in at the yard, recycle the metal properly, and you get your garden / garage back. Win for everyone.
Smaller loads
For smaller bits and pieces, we can still help, sometimes free if we’re passing or if we’re combining your load with another collection nearby. Otherwise a small handling charge applies. Ring us and we’ll be straight with you about what’s worth doing.
Mixed loads
Got scrap metal mixed in with other rubbish or a wider clearance? Even better. Tell us when you book the clearance and we’ll separate the metal at our end. The scrap value goes back into the price of the job, so you pay less overall.
What we can’t take
- Fridges, freezers and air-con units containing gas (these need a separate route – see appliance removal)
- Aerosols, gas bottles or pressurised containers
- Anything radioactive or hazardous
