If the items being cleared still have resale value to us, the job costs you less. Simple as that. Furniture in good condition, useable appliances, branded tools, collectables, end-of-business stock, anything we can pass on rather than dispose of works out cheaper for everyone.
What counts as resellable
- Furniture in good condition. Branded or solid wood furniture especially.
- Working appliances. Modern washing machines, fridges, cookers that still work.
- Tools and equipment. Power tools, garden machinery, decent hand tools.
- Antiques and collectables. Old jewellery, watches, ceramics, paintings, vinyl, vintage clothing.
- Branded household items. Le Creuset, KitchenAid, designer homeware.
- End-of-business stock. Shop closures, surplus inventory, ex-display items.
- Office furniture. Branded chairs (Aeron, Mirra), height-adjustable desks, meeting tables.
How the discount works
When we quote a clearance, we walk through the property (or you send photos), and we identify what’s saleable. The estimated resale value comes off the clearance quote. For probate clearances where saleable contents are substantial, the clearance can sometimes come out at zero cost, or in rare cases with a small payment back to the estate.
Valuations for high-value items
For anything we think might be worth a serious amount (antique furniture, jewellery, paintings, watches, specialist collections), we can arrange a proper valuation before the clearance. We know the right local auction houses and dealers and we can get items into the right sale.
