Most people prefer to pack their own things, and we’re fine with that. We can supply everything you need to do it well, or we can come and help if you’d rather not face it.

Free pre-loved boxes
We sometimes have used-but-good boxes available free to anyone who can come and collect them. Worth asking when you book – we don’t always have stock but when we do, we’d rather they got used again.
Packing help
If you want our team to do some or all of the packing, we charge by the hour. Some customers ask us to do just the kitchen and the loft (the two worst rooms), and pack the rest themselves. Others ask us to do the lot. Tell us when you book and we’ll plan accordingly.
Packing tips from doing this for 20 years
- Pack heavy stuff (books, plates) in small boxes, light stuff (linen, clothes) in big boxes.
- Label which room a box goes to, not which room it came from. The “to” is what matters at unloading.
- Stick a coloured sticker on each box per room. Easier than reading labels in a hurry.
- Pack a “first night” box: kettle, mugs, tea bags, milk, toilet roll, phone chargers, bedding, toothbrushes.
- Photograph the back of TVs and tech before unplugging. You’ll thank yourself at the other end.
